212 All Good: Perfectly Good and Healthy

A friend in Bombay always seems to suggest restaurants whose food I pretty much enjoy – she of course has done a recce of the place and only if it passes her standards is the recommendation made – and of course that is how I always end up having one of my most enjoyable meals with the most fantastic company.

My recent trip to Bombay took me to 212 All Good at Lower Pare (Phoenix Mills) which has become the perfect confluence between South Bombay and Bandra. I had no clue what to expect, but healthy was definitely not on my mind. The reason for this was, I believe colloquially they refer to this restaurant at just ‘212’, the ‘All Good’ part is omitted, or it could just be my friend knowingly omitting the fact. Whatever the reason, I am glad I got to eat there.

To set me off, I ordered the Coffee Cola (best of both worlds) – basically this was espresso, balsamic and house cola

Verdict: Definitely different and had a slightly bitter after taste… I might next time stick to just their house cola (please note, its not one of those fizzy drinks you get in the supermarket)

I then went on to have the Coconut Chilli Prawns – this was prawns marinated in coconut milk and lime juice and served with yam fries

Verdict: Absolutely lip-smacking good. On an ordinary day, I am a potato fries loyalist – but the yam option perfectly offset the coconut taste.

With my friend having to go back to work (unlike me who did not have anywhere else to be), the only excuse I could muster to have her seated for a little bit longer was dessert 😊 So I choose the Flourless Brownie with maple walnut ice cream.

Verdict: Just short of licking the plate, I pretty much wiped it clean.
