It was a lunch time celebration and we wanted to have something other than Aisan (none of my suggestions were accepted this time round 😊). So Lebanese food was the cuisine choice and it was a no brainer when someone recommended Al Falamanki on Jumeirah Beach Road (opposite to the Dubai Ladies Club). I had never eaten there, nor ever heard of it (looks like I have been living under a rock for a while now) – so I was up to try someplace new.
I was the first to walk in and was pleasantly surprised by the jumbled assortment of charis, lounge chairs – both inside and outside. It was a bit warm on the day we went so I decided to take a table indoors. Over the time we were there, the place got pretty busy – which made me realise that its not such a hidden secret as I thought it would be.
Here is what we ordered:
Hummos with meat & pine nuts – I loved the texture of the hummos and the combination with meat was really very nice.
Spicy Potatoes – you really can’t go wrong with this
Sausages in Pomegranate molasses – this was the first time I tried this, and I quite enjoyed it.
Tawok Skewers with French fries and tahini sauce – I replaced the tahini sauce for garlic paste – but those fries and chicken in the fresh bread was divine.
The meat eaters did order some of the meat kebabs, but they dug in before I could get some photos.. in terms of their review (which I trust most of the times 😊) they said it was good.
We had the Knefeh for dessert, but I was more interested in having a big slice of a birthday cake we had brought to celebrate.
